It is hard to comprehend what happened last week, Cammie was an inspiration to us all , not only an extremely skilled operator on that massive digger , but nothing phased him. Such a hard working , funloving ,helpful , and thoughtful person you will never find. An inspiration to us all. Our thoughts are with Laura and all his family . Ian , jane and all at Courthill xx

It is with utter shock and can’t comprehend why this has happened to you. Cammie you did not deserve this, a week on and I’m still trying to get my head round it. I have never met a nicer man, I know we only met a few times but have been friends for years. I will miss our banter on Facebook andsnapchat especially on a Friday with your tunes. I cannot imagine what Laura is going through. I have looked at my phone day to day and your name always comes up in my friend list and it is so hard to believe you’re gone. You were taken far to young and I shall always remember you big friend and hope I see you again one day until then cammie rest easy big fella, c mon,Scott😢😢👍👍

From school boy friends and living on neighbouring farms, Skelfhill and Priesthaugh to going to school together (Drumlanrig) then the high school Cammie was a good lad and regarded as friend even though as we get older we went separate ways. One of the good guys and will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Sleep well Cammie.

Attending a funeral FAQs

View all FAQs >

What should I wear?

We normally associate wearing black with going to a funeral. But it is increasingly typical for families to express a preferred dress code. Our advice is to look out for information from the family in a notice published either in newspapers, online or in the funeral director window to advise you of their preference.

How long does a service last?

Typically a service in most churches or crematoria lasts around 20-30 minutes. A formal mass may take a little longer and we would expect this to be nearer an hour. Finally, burials can vary in length as they are weather dependent.

Where should I sit?

Family and close friends typically reserve the first couple of rows in a service. We recommend sitting nearer the front than the back of a service space in order to support the family and enabling late arrivals to discreetly fill back rows.

Where should I send flowers?

Often a family will express a preference for flowers - or charity donations in lieu of flowers. We recommend you keep an eye on notices posted in newspapers, or online or in the funeral director window so you are able to follow their wishes.
